How can I predict the future? I’ve been told that on that day the Pic of the Day will be one of my photographs! Be watching that space on the 4th

This morning I was driving Fran to her BSF Class workshop. She was taking some goodies for lunch – so it would be easier for her if I dropped her off near the front door of the church while on my way downtown.

As we are riding along, suddenly she burst out laughing. She said I should have seen what she just saw.

Each day in America there must be hundreds of thousands of workers who go out to their Chevy with a Thermos of coffee for the ride into work. Right? Well, this morning we saw the Taiwanese counterpart to that American worker -
instead of a Thermos of coffee in the Chevy . . . . .

I’ve been in Taipei for the last few days doing some work. Jet lag wasn’t too bad although I had a killer headache for two days after arrival. After a couple of days of good Chinese dishes I thought I’d have some Western food for a change. So I decided on Pizza Hut buffet for lunch.

You know you are adjusted to life in Asia when “Shrimp Delight” & “Japanese Teriaki” pizza with a side of “Sweet Potato Salad” don’t seem unusual and actually taste good.

As I write this post I’m snacking on some vegetable jaozi – mmm, mmm, good! You just can’t get this stuff in Dallas

This is a blog post from TheBellSite .com

Reflections of His fullness (June 5, 2007)

Today’s devotional (Power of his Presence) described how Abraham let God choose the land for him, and, as a result – God said “look to the North, South, East, West, and know it is yours” (paraphrase). Ray Steadman helps us understand this is an OT picture of the NT parallel that exhorts us to possess the fullness of the spirit that is ours in Christ.

As I thought about the BSF class, and especially the leaders, I realized that in the Roman’s study this past year, not only did they learn the true biblical doctrines of the Christian faith, but I have the honor of seeing and hearing from them reflections of how each of them implement and reflect the fullness of Christ.

Last night (Mon June 4 TX time), it was Tues June 5 morning in Taiwan. I knew that some of the leaders would be gathering for a farewell party for a coupe of our leaders that are being transplanted in other parts of the world – one to New Zealand, the other to an Islamic land. I phoned them during the party, to be with them via phone. They did the most amazing thing…. After they all greeted me one by one over the phone, they sat the phone down, and the leader who is being transplanted to the Islamic land played the piano, while the rest sang the precious hymn “God be with you ‘til we meet again”. I had a smile on my face from TX to TW!

As I pondered on the devotional in Gen 13:5-18 and Eph 3:18-19, I was overjoyed by realizing that all these ladies have truly come to know how to possess the daily reality of the fullness of Christ. I wish I could go into the depth of testimonies among them, and that is my blessing obviously, but knowing each personally brings me pleasure, for each possess a testimony that reflects the fullness of Christ.

Monday was a holiday so we went with Travis to his storage shed.

You see, even though we have lived overseas for seven years, we still have a few things in storage. We are trying to take care of that while we are home for these few months. We think we have just about rounded it all up.
