Taipei Franklin Graham Festival
We just sent out a newsletter* that talked little bit about our involvement in the Taipei Franklin Graham Festival. It also contained a few prayer requests. Since sending the newsletter Fran ran across this article. We think you’ll find it interesting.

I ran across a new study that just reconfirms many old studies – bottled water is no better and often worse than tap water

Unlike public water utilities, bottled water companies are not required to notify their customers of the occurrence of contaminants in the water, or, in most states, to tell their customers where the water comes from, how and if it is purified, and if it is merely bottled tap water. Information provided on the U.S. EPA website clearly describes the lack of quality assurance for bottled water: “Bottled water is not necessarily safer than your tap water” (EPA 2007b).

How much money could you save if you just got yourself a couple of these reuseable bottles and filled them with tap water. Not to mention how many “stay in the landfill forever” plastic bottles you’d not contribute to our pollution problem. Think about it.

Friday was a public holiday in Taiwan. It is called 10-10 or Double Ten. THIS Wikipedia article explains what it is all about.

After hanging around the apartment all day we both needed some fresh air so we struck out at about 5 o’clock in search of some sky. We needed some wide open space. Good Luck! We ended up walking to the river that is about 15-20 minutes away on foot. Here is what we saw .

Since the last typhoon the days have been mostly cooler. There are not many visual signs yet, but it must be right around the corner. This is a picture we took in Arkansas on our last vacation (1999) before we moved overseas. I thought it looked sorta fallish :-)

(I am testing out a tool which allows me to just link to photos I’ve uploaded to Flickr instead of having to also upload to our website.)

Just wanted to let anyone who was wondering . . . we survived Super Typhoon Jangmi. For us it wasn’t too bad. We stayed inside and avoided the really high winds and torrential rains.
The temperatures have come down and there is no rain in the forecast for tomorrow – YEAH!
