Fran has posted a new Mission Moment. It can be found here:
Fran and I took a day to play on Saturday and we’re glad we did because a cold front blew in today + we had a really good time. It was lots of fun; even if we were a bit sore this morning.
I was up early as usual for a Saturday because of BSF leaders’ meeting. Came home and had a slow morning followed by a good lunch. Then it was time to go to the hospital to pick up one of Fran’s many pairs of new glasses (ask her about them). Then we were free for the day.
I had been looking at maps trying to figure out where a picture I really like was taken from. I thought I might have a pretty good idea, so we set out to discover a part of town neither of us had explored before. We hiked up to the top of a good sized hill and then down the other side. Fran thought we were lost but I guided us safely back to our parked car. We then checked out a nice park that was just a short walk away.
We ended the day in the area around Taipei 101 with a sandwich and a wrap at Au Bon Pain followed by a Cold Stone Creamery ice cream dessert.
Fun Times!

I just completed a fun book. “Crocodile on the Sandbank” by Elizabeth Peters.
It was my first book by Elizabeth Peters. She was recommended by a co-worker who lives in Thailand. Apparently there are over 15 titles in this series. (That should keep me busy for a while!)
It’s all about a lady living in Victorian England who becomes a widow and then strikes out on an adventure. Very readable but with language from the period. An enjoyable & clean (albeit – non-Christian) story. I’d rate it 4 out of 5.
I never ever read my horoscope. My personal opinion is that it is an affront to God.
This morning while eating breakfast I was reading one of the largest English newspapers in Taiwan, the Taipei Times, when I spotted something I had not noticed before.
“Lunar Prophecy” appears in a column along with the weather forecast, air quality, and lottery numbers. It seems to be a horoscope for everyone – no matter what sign you were born under. It looks like it is based on the current moon phase and lunar date. It speaks for itself.
Fran has just written her third installment of Mission Moments.
