Just finished another book by Hanna Alexander. This one was a follow up to Hideway (which I have discovered that I didn’t mention before). Safe Haven
is a well written, fast paced, clean story. I can recommend any of the 5 books written by Hanna Alexander (a husband/wife team) that I have read. See my recently read library.
Today I did something I haven’t done in a long time!
I mowed grass for the first time in seven years . . . .

Today we travelled the north end of Skyline Drive – very nice

Virginia!
The campus of the training center is beautiful this time of year. More later!

Over the last couple of days we’ve had some fun with Paige and Chris (our future son-in-law). Yesterday, good Friday, we went on a search for bluebonnets. After almost giving up we spotted a field full of them mixed with a red thistle? After taking a hundred pictures we went to their church for a very well done Good Friday service. The night was topped off with warm rolls and squash casserole at Black Eyed Pea. Mmmmmmmm . . . .

I just finished an interesting article on the Newsweek website. It’s a debate about Christianity between Rick Warren and an atheist. These type of articles always come out just before a Christian holiday, don’t they?
Rick, last thoughts?
WARREN: I believe in both faith and reason. The more we learn about God, the more we understand how magnificent this universe is. There is no contradiction to it. When I look at history, I would disagree with Sam: Christianity has done far more good than bad. Altruism comes out of knowing there is more than this life, that there is a sovereign God, that I am not God. We’re both betting. He’s betting his life that he’s right. I’m betting my life that Jesus was not a liar. When we die, if he’s right, I’ve lost nothing. If I’m right, he’s lost everything. I’m not willing to make that gamble.

Here is a place that is destined to be one of our favourite spots over the next few months. We can walk to it in less than 15 minutes. In the distance you can see downtown Dallas. In the foreground is White Rock Lake. In the early morning it is very peaceful.
