Here is the mission home we will occupy until at least Aug. 1

Took this pic early this morning. Fran was up before 2am. After tossing and turning too long, I finally rolled out around 3. It’s funny, we both slept all night the first night . . .

It’s great to have our feet firmly planted on Texas soil. Praise the Lord we travelled for 22 hours without incident and have safely arrived at our home for the next 5 months or so. Give us a ring . . . .

We probably won’t have time to make another blog entry for a while. In 12 hours or so we’ll head for the airport. Next stop DFW! If you didn’t get a mailing from us yesterday with contact details please leave a comment. See ya soon!

Do you ever have taste bud deja vu?  Weird, tonight while warming up dinner (spaghetti and salad), the thought of “atomic hotdogs” crossed my brain.  Wow. This worries me - are my taste buds really craving that childhood economy food?  Surely not – wake up taste buds….. Mexican food, real TX BBQ…. etc. just 4 days away!

The Chinese Lantern Festival is the last day of the traditional Chinese New Year celebration period. We went to the annual celebration this year – massive crowd! If you didn’t already know, this is the year of the pig.

Tonight we had dessert before we had dinner. Why? The night market gets really crowded in the evening & this is a famous place that serves shaved peanut ice with chocolate (and/or strawberry) on top. Then we went and rode the Ferris wheel – it’s one of the tallest in the world.  Then we went and had dinner – ventured out and had some yummy Indian Food. [L-R, Jackie, Bruce, Becky & Jim] We just had to have a fun outing w/friends before heading for the USA!

OK – enough of the nostalgia. We’ve all had a good time strolling down memory lane.
It is now less than 10 days until we leave Taiwan – headed to Texas. In honor of that impending event, here is today’s pic–of-the-day . . .
