After our big meeting was over I stayed in town. I have tacked 4 days vacation onto the end so that I could take the Open Water scuba certification course. Today was day three. This a dive boat almost exactly like the one I was on, anchored in the cove where I dove.

Taiwan is rewriting some of its history books used in public schools. This has not been missed by mainland. Here is an interesting article – follow the link.

A February 1 editorial in the PRC-controlled China Daily began: “History is made by man but not man-made. Such a truth foretells the doomed Taipei secessionist attempt to rewrite the island’s history through promoting pro-independence culture.”

Just a quick note to let you know that we are basking in the warm sunshine of Thailand.
Not really – we are cogs in the machine inside our hotel getting ready for the “really big show” that starts in the morning. All the preparations have been made and a few small events have already happened but all 1200 of us will enjoys breakfast in the morning before beginning a cram packed week. Pray for stamina for Fran and I. More later!
