Yesterday it came to me in a flash . . . .
Just before I went to lunch (I was considering getting some dumplings) Fran & I were talking about what to have for dinner. She suggested ravioli. Like a lightning bolt it hit me. What we call “jiao zi” or “guo tie” is really nothing more than Chinese ravioli!
Here is what I had for lunch today:

I said to the girl “Wo yao shi ge jiu cia guo tie ye yao yi ge yu mi tang”
What she gave me was 10 fried dumplings (with green vegetables inside) and a bowl of corn soup. I picked up the secret sauce packets, soup spoon, and chopsticks on the way out and the Coke Light from the office frig. At today’s conversion rate that came to $2.75 USD Yum!
