I just thought about how next weekend the US has a time change. Taiwan does not mess with the time.
So . . . effective October 31st, Taiwan will be 14 hours ahead of Dallas. Here is an easy way to figure out what time it is here; change the Dallas time to the opposite of whatever it is – am or pm and then add two more hours. If you are changing from pm to am we are already in the next day.
For example – you are driving to work in Dallas rush hour traffic and it is 7am. Change that to pm = 7 pm then add 2 hrs = 9 pm. That would be a perfect time to call Jackie and Fran!

Starbucks is a little rich for my blood. Oh, I occasionally drop in for a Mocha Frappuccino, but it is seldom enough that it would be called a treat.
Evidently they have been printing all sorts of quotes on their cups for a while. Now it makes news. They will now, gasp, put a religious saying or quote on the cup. The article doesn’t say exactly what the quote will be. Read all about it . . . .

After a 24 hour trek I have arrived back in Taipei, safe & sound. The two week visit was great, I enjoyed catching up with some (but not all) of our friends and family, but it is wonderful to be back. I’ll try to post a few of the highlights soon.

It’s hard to believe that adults in a place that wants to be seen as an “International City??? and treated equally at the table of nations would act this way as they pretend to be leaders. The worse part of it is – this is not an uncommon occurrence.
