It is colder here in Taipei (49) than we have ever experienced in the past 3 plus years. It’s rainy too, which makes us chilled to the bone. With the tiles & cement buildings – it’s not so easy to warm. Of course coming from 80-90 degree Thailand doesn’t make accilimation easy either. Someone said it is the coldest in 30 years here.
We priced some household things this afternoon – but didn’t make any purchases, other than groceries. We ate dinner at Gramma Nitties – and was reminded of something that doesn’t happen in the US – dogs and cats wondering around the cafe. I guess we are used to it.

I find myself with a few moments and thought I’d do a quick update. We no sooner got to Taiwan than we left again and I write this from a hotel room in Thailand. We have the afternoon off so I am taking the opportunity to take care of a few loose ends and did a quick freshening up of the website front page. This caused me to think about the LJ so here I am. Fran is getting 40 winks in the room and I am in the Planning Team’s internet connection room checking email and tying up odds and ends. This is a beautiful place and we have been so inspired by the testimonies of so many who have a pretty rough time in hard places. Over and over they testify of God’s faithfulness – how He gets them through and how they are encouraged by the results of Pressing On. That’s our theme this year – We Press On!
We have responsibilities thru Sunday and will fly back to Taiwan on Monday. We’ll then have about 3 weeks before our crate arrives so that we can finally set up an apartment! I just realized that we have not had a place to call our own since July 17th – a full 6 months ago; it seems like a much longer time than that.
Well, I’d better get back to work. Even though it is a “day off” there are things that need to be tended to.
P.S. I’ve just learned that my mother, Christine, has pneumonia – Please pray for her quick recovery.
Love from Amazing Thailand,
J&F
