Well, I made it thru that week – whew! Only one left until the big meeting. I hope it is calmer than this week was . . .

Since you are reading this I can assume you have made it into the year 2003! Happy New Year ! ! !
Fran & I wish you and yours a very happy and healthy 2003. May the peace, joy, and grace of our Lord be yours all year long.
New year’s day we had a traditional lunch of beef brisket. I’m not sure when it started but for most of the last 10+ years we’ve eaten brisket on New Year’s Day. Beef is not real abundant here, especially brisket. We searched out a butcher shop in the section of town with a lot of foreigners and found some Augus beef from the USA and he cut a brisket he had in half. Fran made us some potato salad and baked beans to go with it and ummm, it was good.
That evening we had dinner with friends in the home of our former language teacher, Ellen. It was Ellen, her husband William & their 2 college age kids, along with us & a couple of BSF women’s leaders & some of their kids. We had a great time of food, games and singing.
