Living in a foreign land, I was not exposed to such tacky incidents surrounding the anniversary of the horible tragedy in NY, DC, & PA as those related by Mudpoet .
Last night we attended a very simple and dignified ceremony at out quasi-embassy otherwise known as ATI (American Taiwan Institute).
We heard comments by the head guy there, had a flag raising ceremony, President Bush’s letter was read, we had a minute of silence, and then sang the Star Spangled Banner. We blew out our candles and were dismissed. Very appropriate.

Just taking a break from working on BSF. FB went for a walk and I stayed behind to work on getting ready for Monday night BSF.
Tomorrow night will be the first meeting of the new year and my first night in my new role as STL (substitute teaching leader). In my new role I give an introduction class for those who are visiting for the first time. We are expecting/hoping for a lot of new men. We are starting the Children’s Program in the Men’s class this year. That will most likely bring in some new men to the class.

Talked to my Mom & brother last night and they both sounded fine. Not much new back in Texas. Sounds like summer visited late this year.

Well, guess I’d better get back to it. Need to finish up before 4:00. WE are going to the evening English service at the church next door & I need to finish BSF before we go.

In some parts of the world there is such a thing as a snow day. You know, school is cancelled, some businesses close, and everybody stays home and goofs off. I guess a snow day could be seen as a dangerous thing – but I always thought of them as a fun thing – you know building snowmen, making snow ice cream, drinking hot chocolate, or warming by the fire.

Well, today was a Typhoon day for us.
Typhoon day means stay inside or go outside and get drenched or knocked on the head by flying debris; not exactly a fun thing!
